Weddings and guest-focused events
For guest-focused events the question is usually comfort, not just count: flushing units or a restroom trailer for guests, a standard unit placed discreetly for vendors, and a handwashing station near food service. If any attendees will need an accessible unit, plan the accessible route at the same time you pick the spot.
Permit timing in Huntsville
The City’s special-event permit triggers are event-driven — road closures, alcohol, food vendors, amplified noise, generators, inflatables, 500 or more people at one time, use of a City park, and the rest of the posted list. The City’s general instruction says to start at least 30 days out, with tiered FAQ deadlines of 10, 20, and 30 days by event tier and a six-week window when alcohol is involved. A permitted event’s site plan must show portable restroom locations, so the restroom order has to exist before the application is finished.
